Eliot Lipp - Time Flies (Single)
Eliot Lipp's latest track, "Time Flies," from his upcoming album "Viper Venom," is a masterful blend of glitch and funk.
Lipp's meticulous production ensures that each sound stays distinct while merging seamlessly into the others. The track captivates throughout it’s 4+ minute run time, which seems to fly by in an instant. As the opening song, “Time Flies,” sets a high bar for the rest of the album.
Drawing parallels to his track "Sun Comes Out" from Skywave (2017), Lipp employs contrast in "Time Flies." The song employs bright, funky guitar riffs and a punchy horn section that mutates into pixelated echoes just as they begin to feel familiar. Throughout, there’s a sense of chaos lurking in the backdrop, appearing in bursts and adding a flattering edge to the songs mellow moments.
Despite its intricate production, "Time Flies" shines in both passive and active listens. It also demonstrates Lipp's ability to produce crowd-pleasing electronic music that remains fresh after repeat listens.
“Viper Venom” arrives May 3rd and is available for pre-order on vinyl, CD, and cassette via Old Tacoma Records.
